What began in childhood, glued to This Old House with my dad and forever in negotiations with my mom to help rearrange my bedroom every change of season, turned into a passion for all things design and a life lived with an independently creative spirit.

I have practiced interior design since graduating in 2006 with many curves in the road since.  I returned to the University of Oklahoma for a Master's in Construction Administration in 2010 to refine project management skills and am currently working on my Ph.D. in Planning, Design, and Construction.....because I'm crazy!  In all seriousness, I enjoy learning in an always evolving industry with new technologies and methodologies emerging everyday.  I believe it's important to nourish these roots in order to keep design thriving and fresh.  I am a practicing Associate for The McKinney Partnership where I serve as Sustainability Coordinator.  I also teach Computer Applications and Portfolio classes for Interior Design undergraduate and graduate students as an adjunct professor at the OU College of Architecture here in Norman.

MY DESIGN THEORY

My design theory is based in environment and human behavior relationships.  I believe your space should reflect who you are, as a business or as a family, regardless of rules or popular pins.  I believe your home should make you feel at home.  If you love something put it on display to be enjoyed everyday.  I believe that the majority of us live with champagne taste on beer budgets (not that I will turn down anything with salt & lime) and that's okay.  I believe that the greatest love story is when form met function and that everyone should have a relationship with the elements in their space.

MY PERSONAL STYLE

My personal style is blended.  It is a mix of family heirlooms, modern straight lines, light filled rooms, fresh neutral palettes with contrasting accents, natural elements and metallic textures, mixed with antique shop or travel finds. If I had to name it, it would be modern soco (a little like boho splashed with southern comfort).

I aim to provide designs for personal clients that are uniquely them, but infused with my own airy, eclectic, soco style.    I love to create designs for residences and small scale commercial projects that tell a story.  I can work with contractors to help bring the project's vision to life and love a good design challenge.
